There are some people who buy a BMW for the emblem on the trunk. But most of us in the St. Louis BMW Club buy them to drive. We don’t just put them in the garage. We like how they handle, and we enjoy being behind the wheel.
But often too much of our driving is commuter traffic—running errands on weekends, or perhaps an occasional trip.
Enter center stage: our BMW Driving Tours. All Club Tours are created to take advantage of a day behind the wheel, on the best back roads we can find. There is always a minimum of interstate—just enough to get to the exit that takes us on great back roads for the day.
These are one-day events, starting at a central location, and in small groups leaving about 9:30am. Each group of 5-6 cars has a Group Leader, and all cars have full route instructions. This is not a rally, nor is it a “speed run”; but it is great driving, over great roads. Drivers are required to be a current member of the BMW Car Club.
The Tours are always planned with a nice dining experience somewhere at the end of the morning route—with a return time which gets us back into the city, mid to late afternoon. You are free after lunch for shopping, site-seeing or taking the shortest route home. Thus, it’s a challenging day behind the wheel, with great friends, food and you are back home late afternoon.
Total number of cars is limited, and they fill quickly for all of the Tours. So if you plan on a date, be sure to check for information and make your RSVP reservation as soon as possible. Information will be posted on this website and via our email list.
If you like to drive and like fine roads that let you enjoy your car behind the wheel, then be sure to include the Driving Tours in your yearly BMW plans. It’s a great way to get out of city traffic for the day.
